“The hotel's location was great, as it sits atop a hill overlooking the city of Gondar. It does make for quite a walk into the city itself. If you are not up for walking, there's usually a tuk tuk hanging out outside, or you can have the hotel call a taxi. It's convenient to eat at the hotel, especially during the fasting time, however their food was palatable but not the greatest. The staff was friendly though, and there's a great souvenir shop located outside of the hotel as well. Besides...

“L'hotel non e' situato al centro della cittadina, ne particolarmente vicino ai monasteri -a meno di prendere scorciatoie a piedi; comunque la posizione e' molto gradevole e tranquilla e prossima all\area adatta allo shopping per artigianato e souvenir. Le camere sono piuttosto confortevoli e arredate con mobili in legno di fattura locale. Purtroppo, non c'e' molto a disposizione per combattere le zanzare. Lo staff e' cordialissimo e molto disponibile.”

“It is a very beautiful and quiet place. The rooms are huge and very clean. Beautiful terrace. But the best of all, the staff, expecially the one of the restaurant. I went for Simien for three days and my mother, which doesn't speak English, stayed at the hotel. All the staff took care of her like family! Also the manager, Miracle, was awesome!! “Personally, I loved the simplicity and minimalism of the hotel. The uniqueness. The noises you can hear through the walls. (I need noise to fall asleep and I was there over Timket celebration) I call this luxury. Wifi. A bed (with shiny bedding). A shower and running water. Friendly staff. A TV that I never used. (Like who needs television when life itself is entertaining enough). Transfer currency to Birr, as that is the only currency accepted. It states Complimentary water and transportation....

“This is my favorite spot in all of Ethiopia. It was my second stay at this hotel and proved to be as special as the first. The beds are comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for a shower. The view from the balcony is extraordinary with crows, eagles and hawks flying at by. The morning coffee was delicious and everyone was extremely accommodating and kind. I highly recommend.”
